Accounts Officer I at the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE)

The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, a professional body of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, is seeking for experienced, efficient and skilled candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accounts Officer I

Location: Abuja

Summary

• The Officer will be responsible for the Institute's financial operations, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, timely reconciliation, and proper budgeting among others.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate ledgers and general financial records in both digital and hard copy formats.
• Post transactions into Internal Database, and the NIEEE online membership portal.
• Update members' financial records, follow up on dues, subscriptions, and other financial obligations.
• Reconcile bank statements, manage petty cash, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Support Internal/External Audits, maintain asset records, and coordinate annual verification. 
• Provide financial/logistics support during events and manage onsite receipts and reports.
• Prepare Monthly, Quarterly, Annual reports, Annual Budgets and variance analysis.
• Process payment vouchers, reimbursements, supplier invoices, and ensure proper documentation.

Requirements

• B.Sc / HND qualification in Accounting or Financial Management
• A minimum of 3 - 5 years post-NYSC cognate experience.
• ICAN or ANAN part-qualified or fully qualified candidates will also be of added advantage. 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Database Management and Accounting Software.
• Strong understanding of Nigerian tax laws and regulatory requirements (is an Added advantage
