Job Title: Area Sales Manager

Locations: Lagos & Ogun

Reports To: Regional Sales Manager / Business Head

Job Summary

  • The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for achieving sales targets, expanding market share, and managing dealer/distributor networks within the assigned territory.
  • The role involves developing and executing effective sales strategies, leading a sales team, and ensuring customer satisfaction in line with the company’s goals within the automobile sector.

Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development:

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for vehicles, spare parts, and accessories.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, markets, and dealer networks.
  • Implement sales strategies and campaigns to increase brand presence and market penetration.
  • Monitor competitors’ activities, pricing, and marketing strategies to maintain market competitiveness.

Team Leadership & Performance Management:

  • Supervise and motivate Territory Sales Executives and Dealer Sales Consultants.
  • Set clear sales objectives and performance metrics for the team.
  • Conduct training, coaching, and performance reviews to enhance sales productivity.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Ensure customer satisfaction through efficient complaint handling and after-sales follow-up.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, fleet owners, and corporate clients.

Dealer / Channel Management:

  • Manage existing dealers and appoint new dealers in the assigned area.
  • Ensure dealers adhere to company standards for sales, service, and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular visits to dealers for performance reviews and sales support.
  • Support dealers with inventory planning, retail financing, and promotional activities.

Reporting & Market Analysis:

  • Prepare and submit periodic sales reports, forecasts, and market intelligence reports.
  • Analyze sales data and recommend corrective actions for underperforming markets or dealers.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Achievement of sales and revenue targets.
  • Market share growth in assigned territory.
  • Timely submission of sales reports and forecasts.
  • Dealer network growth and retention.
  • Customer satisfaction scores.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3 – 5 years experience in sales management, preferably in the automobile industry (passenger or commercial vehicles, two-wheelers, or spare parts) or FMCG.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets and managing dealer networks.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM/sales tracking tools.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of automobile products, market trends, and customer behavior.

Salary
N200,000 - N250,000 / month
