We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Credit Analyst

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Analyst to evaluate the creditworthiness of individuals or businesses applying for loans or credit.
• The Credit Analyst will analyze financial data, assess risk, prepare credit reports, and provide recommendations to support sound lending decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to assess credit risk.
• Evaluate customer records and recommend payment plans based on earnings, savings data, and purchase activity.
• Recommend credit limits and terms in accordance with company policies and risk appetite.
• Collaborate with sales, underwriting, and collections teams to manage credit exposures.
• Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of credit analysis and decisions.
• Prepare credit summaries and risk assessments for management review.
• Monitor existing credit accounts to identify early signs of potential default.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
• Effective communication and report-writing skills.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience
• Proven experience as a Credit Analyst or in a similar financial role.
• Strong understanding of financial statements and ratio analysis.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certification is a plus.
• Experience with credit risk modeling tools or data analysis software.
• Familiarity with industry-specific credit assessment criteria (e.g., corporate, consumer, or commercial credit).
