Job Title: Machine Learning Engineer

Location: Abuja (Remote)

Job Description

• As a Machine Learning Engineer with LinguaSpan, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and deploying machine learning models and systems.
• You will oversee all stages of the ML development process, from data collection and preprocessing to model training and evaluation.
• You will manage the flow of data within the application to make data-driven decisions for language conversion.

Key Responsibilities
ML Model Development:

• Design, build, and deploy machine learning models and systems.
• Oversee the entire ML development process, including data collection, preprocessing, model training, and evaluation.
• Manage data flow within the application to ensure accurate and effective language conversion.

Bias Mitigation:

• Implement measures to detect and mitigate bias in the NLP model, ensuring equitable access and results.

Model Deployment & Management:

• Deploy and manage the NLP model, ensuring it remains responsive and accurate.
• Ensure the model’s performance and accuracy are maintained over time.

Data Privacy & Ethics:

• Ensure that data handling complies with privacy regulations and ethical standards, particularly when dealing with language data.

Natural Language Processing (NLP):

• Build and train natural language processing (NLP) models using AI and machine learning techniques.
• Collaborate with language specialists and academic institutions to access and maintain diverse and representative language databases.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Undertake any special assignments or tasks assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in machine learning and natural language processing.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations and ethical standards in data handling.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
• Experience with ML frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Knowledge of data preprocessing techniques and tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with diverse language databases.
• Background in linguistic studies or collaboration with academic institutions.
• Knowledge of bias detection and mitigation techniques in machine learning.
