The Nigeria Institute of Chartered Arbitrators (NICArb) is the premier arbitration institute in Nigeria founded in 1979 under the leadership of former Attorney General of Nigeria and former judge of the World Court at The Hague, Judge Bola Ajibola, SAN, KBE and duly incorporated in 1988 under the Companies Act as a legal entity Limited by Guarantee.

Since 1979, the Nigerian Institute has been in the forefront promoting the domestication, knowledge and practice of arbitration and ADR in Nigeria and has gained reputation as the preferred appointing authority and arbitration handling institution for a broad spectrum of commercial disputants.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 



Job Title: Membership Engagement & Growth Officer

Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos
Employment Type: Full Time

Description

  • Membership Engagement & Growth Officer will be responsible for driving membership engagement and inclusiveness in the organization’s activities as well as enhancing collaboration and coordination of all Branches and Committees.
  • He/she will develop a deep understanding of what brings value to members in the various regions and will guide the organization’s strategy and implementation of programming that builds relationships, educates and develops members about emerging arbitration and ADR activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop goals and strategic action plans for the Institute’s membership engagement, growth and development initiative.
  • Liaise with the Branch Executives and Committees in planning and executing an annual calendar of in-person and virtual events (meetings, webinars, roundtable, gala night, etc.) that bring together the membership of the Institute.
  • To facilitate the exchange of views among members, including the use of social media and other tools/platforms.
  • Act as an ongoing point of contact for Branch Executives and Committees.
  • Provide quarterly reports to Management and Governing Council on activities of the Branches and Committees, and propose on how best to strengthen and improve them.
  • Create partnership proposals for prospective corporate membership in the building strong public-sector/private-sector partnerships and cooperation.
  • Create and analyze the results from members’ surveys on areas of interest and expertise to develop an informed strategy outreach.
  • Build relationship with Branch Executives and Committees and learn about their priorities for engagement in the Institute’s activities, and use that knowledge to develop a strategic plan for engagement events and activities.

Educational Qualification

  • A good University Degree from any discipline.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience of relevant professional experience in membership management or stakeholder engagement.
