Medical Illustrator Requirements, Skills & Qualifications

The following common skills and qualifications are required of a Medical Illustrator:

Degree or diploma in clinical photography, graphic design/illustration, medical illustration, photography.
Considerable knowledge of artistic media applicable to the illustration of scientific subjects.
Considerable knowledge of anatomy pathology and surgery and the major branches of medicine sciences.
Ability to plan, create, and design attractive medical art work visuals.
Ability to portray accurately and in detail medical subjects for display or reproduction.
