Mortician Requirements, Skills & Qualifications

The following common skills and qualifications are required of a Mortician:

  • Associate’s degree in mortuary science or embalming.
  • Work experience as Mortician.
  • Proficient knowledge of various religions, cultures and customs.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to focus for extended periods.
  • Physically strong and dexterous.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Excellent people skills.
