Recruitment Disclaimer


Time and time again, we hear of fraudsters impersonating genuine companies, claiming to be selling recruitment forms or recruiting for such companies. This is usually in a bid to extort money from unsuspecting applicants. A disclaimer is a statement that you are not responsible for something. Putting up a recruitment disclaimer notice on your website is imperative if you find out that your company is being impersonated by fraudsters.  This action will help save your corporate image as well as deliver unsuspecting job seekers from the preying hands of scammers. The attention of [Company Name] has been drawn to the activities of some fraudulent persons using various dubious means ranging from text messages, social media platforms and forged letters to invite unsuspecting members of the public for job interviews in a purported recruitment exercise by [Company Name]. For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to state as follows:
  1. That [Company Name] is currently not recruiting and will not demand payment in any form for any job placement.
  2. That [Company Name] will advertise all vacant positions whenever it is ready to embark on a recruitment exercise.
  3. That members of the public, particularly unsuspecting applicants, should be wary of fraudulent invitations for job interviews at any offices other than our head office located at [Head Office Address], and that anyone who entertains such invitations or deals with peddlers of such invitations does so at his or her own risk.
  4. That anyone contacted for the purpose of the purported recruitment other than through advertisement duly placed by [Company Name] on our website or in national newspapers, should not hesitate to report such invitations to relevant law enforcement agencies.

Consequent upon a purported on-going recruitment exercise at [Company Name], we wish to state clearly that no recruitment exercise is being conducted at this time.Therefore any purported sale of form, invitation for interview and list of recruited candidates being seen any where is fake and did not emanate from [Company Name]. Recruitment process into [Company Name] starts with advertisement of vacancies in print and electronic media, as well as [Company Name]'s website [Website], this is followed by examination/interview training of successful candidates and deployment. The process recognizes only the Federal Character principle of geographical spread. [Company Name] is an equal opportunity employer that recruits candidates irrespective of gender, religion or tribe. Interested candidates are therefore advised to avoid being duped and wait until when [Company Name] put up vacancy advertisement through appropriate media. The general public is strongly advised to be suspicious of any such job offer especially through the internet and report such offers to the nearest [Company Name]'s office or via our email [Email].
