GENERAL STUDIES (English Language & Philosophy)

Position: Senior Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer

REQUIREMENTS

Professor: The Candidate who must have been a Reader for at least three (3) years, must have a PhD degree in the area specified and evidence of highly scholarly productivity. Candidate must have adequate acceptable publications locally and internationally with distinctive academic quality, originality and contributions to knowledge. The candidate must have a minimum of twenty percent (20%) of his/her publications in Scopus or Web of Science-indexed Journals. The candidate must be willing to initiate and develop courses at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels and be able to supervise Postgraduate students in his/her areas of specialization. Minimum of Ten (10) years Post Qualification Teaching Experience in University or related Tertiary Institution and adequate years of Administrative Experience. Registration with relevant Professional bodies where applicable is compulsory.

Senior Lecturer: The candidate must have a PhD degree or its equivalent in the relevant field from a recognized institution plus six (6) years Post-Teaching Experience in the University System. Candidate must have adequate acceptable publications with distinctive academic quality, originality and contributions to knowledge. The candidate must have a minimum of ten percent (10%) of his/her publications in high impact Indexed Journals. He/she must have the ability to teach courses at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels with adequate Research Experience to supervise Postgraduate students. Registration with relevant Professional bodies where applicable is compulsory.

Lecturer I: The candidate must have a PhD degree in relevant field with adequate and acceptable Publications with distinctive academic quality, originality, and contribution to knowledge. Candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience with the ability to initiate and supervise Research Programmes at the undergraduate level. Registration with relevant Professional bodies where applicable is compulsory.

Lecturer II: The candidate must have at least a PhD degree with adequate and acceptable publications with distinctive academic quality, originality, and contribution to knowledge with teaching experience. A candidate with Master’s degree with evidence of steady progress in his or her PhD programmes, a good teaching/professional practice (not less than three years may apply).

Assistant Lecturer: Candidate must be a holder of Master degree of any recognized University in relevant disciplines, with a Second Class Lower division. Evidence of PhD registration is an added advantage.

Graduate Assistant: Candidate must be a holder of Bachelor Degree of any recognized University in relevant disciplines, with at least Second Class Upper division.

UNIVERSITY LIBRARY

Senior Librarian

Candidate must possess good degree in any relevant discipline, Master in Library and Information Science (MLIS/MIS) and PhD from a recognized University. The candidate must have at least two (2) years cognate work experience as Librarian I in a tertiary institution and must have sufficient journal publications. Candidate must also be ICT compliant.

Librarian I

Must be a holder of a First Degree, with at least minimum of Second-Class Honors Lower Division, with Master in Library and Information Science from a recognized University. The candidate must have at least two (2) years cognate work experience as Librarian II in a tertiary institution and must have sufficient journal publications. PhD from a recognized University is an added advantage. 

Librarian II

Must be a holder of a First Degree, with at least Second-Class Honors, Lower Division and Master in Library and Information Science from a recognized University. The candidate must have at least two (2) years cognate work experience as Assistant Librarian in a in a tertiary institution and must have sufficient journal publications.

Assistant Librarian

Must be a holder of a First Degree, with at least Second-Class Honors, Lower Division and Master in Library and Information Science from a recognized University. The candidate must have at least two (2) years cognate work experience as Graduate Librarian in a tertiary institution and evidence of journal publications is an added advantage.

Graduate Librarian

Must be a holder of a First Degree, with at least Second-Class Honors, Lower Division in relevant degrees.

NOTE: The candidates, in all cases, must be registered with the Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN), be computer literate and accustomed with Library Management Software packages.

Legal Officer I (CONTISS 08):

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language plus LL. B/B. L plus three (3) years cognate experience.

Principal Procurement Officer (CONTISS 11):

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics plus a good Honours degree in Economics, Quantity Surveying, Building Technology or other relevant degrees from recognized institutions with a minimum of second class (Lower Division) with at least 12 years cognate experience, at least two years as a senior procurement officer in a Federal Government MDA. Candidate must be Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) certified.

Procurement Officer I (CONTISS O8):

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics, a Possession of a good Honours degree in Economics, Quantity Surveying, Building Technology or other relevant degrees from recognized institutions with a minimum of second class (Lower Division) with at least at least two years cognate experience in a Federal Government MDA. Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) certificate is an added advantage.

Information/Senior Public Relations Officer (CONTISS 09):

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics plus a degree in Communication, Arts, Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Relations etc. with five (5) years cognate experience. Membership of NIPR or other relevant professional bodies is compulsory.

REGISTRY

Principal Assistant Registrar CONTISS 13:

Candidate must have 13 years post qualification experience and must have been a Senior Assistant Registrar for at least 2 years in the University System. Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language plus a first degree not below Second Class Lower Division. Possession of a Master degree and membership of relevant Professional Association is compulsory (ANUPA, ICSAN, NIM, CIPM etc.). Candidate must also be ICT compliant.

Senior Assistant Registrar CONTISS 11:

Candidate must have at least 10 years post qualification experience and must have been an Assistant Registrar for at least 2 years in the University System. Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language plus a first degree not below Second Class Lower Division. Possession of a Master degree is an added advantage and membership of relevant Professional Association is compulsory (ANUPA, ICSAN, NIM, CIPM etc.). Candidate must also be ICT compliant.

Assistant Registrar CONTISS 9:

Candidate must have at least 7 years post qualification experience and must have been an Administrative Officer I for at least 2 years in the University System. Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language plus a first degree not below Second Class Lower Division. Possession of a Master degree is an added advantage and membership of relevant Professional Association is compulsory (ANUPA, ICSAN, NIM, CIPM etc.). Candidate must also be ICT compliant.

Administrative Officer II CONTISS 7:

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language plus a first degree not below Second Class Lower Division in relevant discipline. NYSC discharge/Exemption/Exclusion Certificate is also required. Candidate must also be ICT compliant.

Higher Executive Officer (Admin) CONTISS 7:

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language plus HND not below Lower Credit in relevant discipline. NYSC discharge/Exemption/Exclusion Certificate is also required. Candidate must also be ICT compliant.

Assistant Executive Officer (GD) CONTISS 5:

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics, a ND in Business Administration or other related disciplines, plus proficiency in Computer Literacy.

Confidential Secretary I CONTISS 7:

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics, a Higher National Diploma/ Bachelor’s Degree in Secretarial Administration or Office Management Technology with two-year cognate experience, passed at a minimum of Lower Credit and 120/50 wpm in Shorthand/Typewriting.

Assistant Confidential Secretary CONTISS 5:

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics. National Diploma (ND) in Secretarial Administration, Office Management.

Assistant Data Processing Officer (CONTISS 05):

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics plus a ND in Computer Studies, or Secretarial Studies plus demonstrable evidence of proficiency in computer usage.

Clerical Assistant CONTISS 2:

Candidate must possess O level or its equivalents with at least 3 credit pass.

BURSARY

Chief Accountant CONTISS 13:

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics plus a first degree in Accounting. Candidate must have at least 12 years working experience in the University system. Membership of any of the following: (i) Association of National Accountant of Nigeria (ANAN), (ii) Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) and (iii) Association of Certified and Corporate Accountants (ACCA) is compulsory. Candidate must have been a Principal Accountant for at least 2 years and must be versed in the use of relevant Accounting packages and demonstrate good leadership qualities.

Senior Accountant CONTISS 09:

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics plus a first degree in Accounting. Candidate must have at least 5 years working experience in the University system. Membership of any of the following: (i) Association of National Accountant of Nigeria (ANAN), (ii) Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) and (iii) Association of Certified and Corporate Accountants (ACCA) is compulsory. Candidate must have been an Accountant I for at least 2 years and must be versed in the use of relevant Accounting packages.

Accountant I CONTISS 08:

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics plus a first degree in Accounting. Candidate must have at least 2 years working experience as an Accountant II or its equivalent in the Bursary Department of the University system. Candidate must be versed in the use of relevant Accounting packages.

Accountant II CONTISS 07:

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics plus a first degree in Accounting. Candidate must be computer literate.

Higher Executive Officer (Account) CONTISS 07:

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics plus HND not below Lower credit division in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration. NYSC discharge/Exemption Certificate is also required. Candidate must also be ICT compliant.

Assistant Executive Officer (Account) CONTISS 05:

Candidates must possess at least five O' Level Credits in WASSCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics, a National Diploma in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration plus proficiency in Computer Literacy.

Assistant Store Officer CONTISS 05:

Candidate must possess 5 'O' Level credit pass (WAEC/ GCE) including English and Mathematics plus a National Diploma in Purchasing and Supply, Marketing or Business Administration.

AUDIT UNIT 

Chief Internal Auditor CONTISS 13:

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics plus a first degree in Accounting. Candidate must have at least 12 years working experience in the University system. Membership of any of the following: (i) Association of National Accountant of Nigeria (ANAN), (ii) Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) and (iii) Association of Certified and Corporate Accountants (ACCA) is compulsory. Candidate must have been a Principal Auditor for at least 2 years and must be versed in the use of relevant Accounting packages and demonstrate good leadership qualities.

Auditor I CONTISS 08:

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics plus a first degree in Accounting. Candidate must have at least 2 years working experience in the Audit Unit of the University system. Candidate must be versed in the use of relevant Accounting packages.

Auditor II CONTISS 07:

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics plus a first degree in Accounting. Candidate MUST possess NYSC Discharge/Exemption certificate. Candidate must be computer literate.

MEDICAL AND HEALTH SERVICES UNIT

Medical Officer II (CONMESS 02):

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics plus a degree in Medicine registrable with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) from a recognized Institution and a minimum of two (2) years post registration experience.

Medical Laboratory Scientist (CONHESS 09):

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics plus a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science degree (BMLS). Registration with the Medical and Laboratory Scientist of Nigeria with current practicing license and at least two (2) years cognate experience.

Medical Laboratory Technologist (CONHESS 07):

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics plus a Higher National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science from a recognized institutions.

Senior Nursing Officer CONHESS 09:

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics plus RN/RM or other post Basic certificate, plus registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and four (4) years post qualification experience.

Nursing Officer II (CONHESS 07):

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics plus RN/RM or other post Basic certificate, plus registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and two (2) years post qualification experience.

Staff Nurse/Midwife CONHESS 06:

FARM

Senior Farm Officer (CONTISS 09)

The candidate must possess SSCE/GCE O’Level with at least 5 credits in relevant subject including English Language plus  a Master degree in any field of Agriculture with at least four (4) years working experience or a good University degree in general Agriculture and evidence of NYSC certification with at least seven (7) years post qualification experience.

Farm Officer 1 (CONTISS 08)

The candidate must possess SSCE/GCE O’Level with at least 5 credits in relevant subject including English Language plus a good University degree in general Agriculture and evidence of NYSC certification with at least four (4) years post qualification experience. Master degree in any field of Agriculture will be an added advantage.

Farm Officer II (CONTISS 07)

The candidate must possess SSCE/GCE O’Level with at least 5 credits in relevant subject including English Language plus a good University degree not below second class lower division in general Agriculture and evidence of NYSC certification.

LABORATORY UNIT

Technologist II (CONTISS 07):

Candidate must possess 5 O level credit in WASSCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics and a good HND in relevant discipline not below lower credit level, plus Associate membership of relevant professional body- NISLT, NATE, COREN, ABICON etc.

Laboratory Assistant CONTISS 03:

Candidate must possess at least 3 O level credits in WASSCE/GCE.

ICT UNIT

Principal System Programmer (CONTISS 11)

Candidate must have 12 years post qualification experience and must have been a Senior System Programmer for at least 2 years in a University System. Candidate must possess 5’Olevel credit in WASSCE/SSCE including English Language and Mathematics plus first degree not below second class lower division in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
