We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Graduate Trainee (Credit Officer)

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyzing financial statements and credit reports to determine the creditworthiness of potential clients.
• Assessing risks associated with lending and determining the credit limits for new and existing customers.
• Preparing detailed credit reports and making recommendations based on their findings.
• Reviewing loan applications and ensuring all required documentation is complete.
• Utilizing credit scoring systems to assess applications.
• Ensuring all credit activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
• Maintaining accurate and thorough records of all credit-related transactions and correspondence.
• Monitoring the performance of the credit portfolio and identifying potential risks.
• Preparing regular reports on the status of the credit portfolio for senior management.
• Assisting in the management of overdue accounts and implementing strategies for collections.
• Assisting in the loan approval process and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Meeting with clients to discuss their financial needs and providing guidance on suitable credit products.
• Negotiating terms and conditions of loans with clients.
• Providing ongoing support and advice to clients regarding their credit and financial health.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in any reputable course but a Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration will be an added advantage with a Minimum of 2:2.
• Must have completed NYSC
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
• Good knowledge of Excel
• Good writing and communication skills
• Must possess strong analytical skills
• Experience as a Credit Risk Officer in a finance company is an advantage.
• Analytical Skills, Credit Risk Management, and Risk Analysis
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Attention to detail and ability to analyze and interpret financial data
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
