Job Title: Portfolio Manager

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

• Volition Capital Investments Limited (Volition Cap) seeks a Portfolio Manager to oversee its multi-asset portfolio.
• The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for sourcing new investments, facilitating due diligence, analyzing deals, and recording and monitoring investments.

• Perform end-to-end portfolio management:
  • Deal design
  • Due diligence
  • Allocation
  • Placement
  • Management
  • Records
  • Monitoring
  • Collection
  • Reconciliation
• Participate in product design.
• With the CIO, design and update portfolio management frameworks and processes.
• Recommend and implement portfolio management software, bringing all client & investment records into the platform.
• Hold client investment planning sessions and effectively upsell products.
• Provide relevant input to periodically update Volition Cap's investment course for Africans & Diasporans.

Qualifications, Skills Set and Values

• A minimum of 5 years relevant experience role in a portfolio management position (as a retail fund management expert, NOT a venture capital professional).
• Professional certification in finance/accounting from a recognized professional body (e.g. CFA, CGMA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAN etc).
• Ability to ask probing questions, reconcile viewpoints, foster consensus and stimulate thinking in stakeholders.
• Strong numeracy and accuracy skills.
• Advanced reporting skills.
• Ability to grasp financial concepts quickly.
• Proven hands-on experience with managing portfolios and assets.
• Incredible drive and the capacity to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to extract investment requirements, performance, risks and status from multiple stakeholders.
• Comfort with a multi-asset portfolio.
