The Admiralty University of Nigeria was established in 2017 by the Nigerian Navy and commenced full academic activities in the 2018/2019 academic session. In order to reposition the University for excellence in line with its mandate, the University was later transformed to a full-fledged conventional federal institution sequel to the assent to the ADUN Act 2022, on 8th February, 2023, by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
