Junior Accountant Requirements, Skills & Qualifications

The following common skills and qualifications are required of a Junior Accountant:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • x years of experience as a Junior Accountant 
  • Additional qualifications (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) are a big advantage
  • Analytical mind
  • Critical thinker
  • Love for numbers
  • Excellent understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Experience with relevant computer software (e.g. SAP)
